Statement to membership by the Chairperson
For those who attended the presentation on the Beacon Programme at Crystal Palace on 6 July at Sidcup Leisure Centre delivered by the recently appointed Head of Aquatics Ron Phillpott and Rosa Gallop, I hope you found this informative and answered some of your concerns with regard to this initiative.
It is a programme that will need tweaking along the way to meet the diverse needs of London Swimming and its aquatics. The ground work appears to be sound and with the club I look forward to supporting our swimmers into the programme.
Further to the above I am taking this opportunity to inform you that it is with great relief that we are not going to lose our Chief Coach Simon Scott. The Club now needs a prolonged period of stability and with Simon at the helm, being guided and mentored by the Head of Aquatics at Crystal Palace, we can build a club that will be revered and a force to be reckoned with once again. It will take time but watch this space.
The Committee will endeavour to keep you abreast of all developments as these happen but can only let you know when we know.
There are exciting times ahead and we must embrace these opportunities as presented to us.
